Most people climbing Aonach Eagach from west to east go down to Glen Coe immediately after the Top of Am Bodach. The ridge itself however broadens and zigzags further east for about six kilometres, eventually dropping to where it's crossed by the West Highland Way above the Devil's Staircase.

The picture was taken just west of the un-named 901m top north north east of The Study, about half an hour before sunset. Ben Nevis, Carn Mor Dearg and the Aonachs are on the left. In front and to the right of these is the Mamore ridge, from Sgurr an Iubhair and Sgurr a'Mhaim in the west to Sgurr Eilde Mor in the east. On the far right are the Easains above Loch Trieg.
