A'Mhoine Mhor, the great moss, stretches from the tops above Glen Feshie to the high Cairngorms of Braeriach, Cairn Toul and Monadh Mor. It's a wonderful open and wild place with a feeling all its own (although you have to try to disregard the bulldozed track which crosses it). This was a glorious late autumn day, with a frost which the sun is just burning off and a temperature inversion in the eastern glens. The picture was taken near the top of Meall Dubhag, easily reached from the path over Carn Ban Mor. I went on over to Monadh Mor and returned the same way, reaching the top of the path above Glen Feshie well after sunset to find that the inversion now filled that glen and Strathspey as well. |
