Taken about half a kilometre west of Sgurr a'Bhealaich Dheirg, with the ridge to the west rising over Saileag and Sgurr na Spainteach to Sgurr na Ciste Duibhe, from where the Five Sisters ridge runs away to the north west.

There have been precious few snowy days over the last couple of winters and, if any snow did arrive, it was a rush to get out and make the most of it before it disappeared overnight, as it always seemed to. This was such a day and, although the January light was disappearing fast, there was at least time for a wonderful sunset to paint the snow with colour. It was fully dark by the time I fought my way through the debris of a partly felled plantation back to the road.
