Sgurr Choinnich Mor and Sgurr Choinnich Beag are the first two summits on the Grey Corries ridge east of Aonach Beag. Both are sharp cones, although the ridge itself, while very well-defined, is mostly grassy. The entire ridge, from Sgurr Choinnich Beag to Stob Coire na Ceannain (although probably better done in reverse) is nowhere difficult but gives a very long day out if you have to return to your starting point.

On this particular day I walked up Glen Nevis, which was saturated after several days of bad weather, and followed up the burn to the east of Sgurr a'Bhuic. The weather was perfect, although very cold and slightly hazy to the east. The picture was taken from the lower part of Sgurr Choinnich Beag's south west ridge, above the bealach separating it from the Aonach Beag hills.
