LINKS

These are just a few sites I personally like, in no particular order. Some have inspirational photography, others are interesting or entertaining, others are just very useful. This will be updated as I find new ones to add.

Mountain Images

Ian Evans' site features a wide range of superb images from the Himalayas and Karakoram, as well as the mountains of Scotland, Wales and England. (I have to declare an interest here as some of my own material is also available through his site.)

Joe Cornish

Superb stuff. I've always been a great adminrer of Joe Cornish, whose inspirational pictures convey a feeling for landscape better than almost anyone else's.

West Coast peaks

Norway is, by a mile, the most beautiful and inspiring place I know. Arnt Flatmø's great site will give anyone interested in the Norwegian mountains a huge amount of information and many wonderful photographs.

Scandinavian Mountains

Another site for Norway enthusiasts, this one covering all the 2,000m peaks (including those in Sweden).

The Angry Corrie

Not to be missed on any account.

The Mountaineering Council for Scotland

Invaluable information and advice for anyone going on the Scottish hills.

Who Owns Scotland

Next time you find a notice telling you the way you want to go up a hill is closed, this will tell you who the culprits are. Note that their mapping is being revised at the moment.

Mountain Weather Information Service

By far the best weather forecasts for the hills of Scotland, Wales and the Lakes.

Tower Ridge

Mountain and outdoor gear by mail order - excellent service and prices.

Craigdon Mountain Sports

. . . and, if you'd rather visit a shop, these guys are first class.

Bjørn Rørslett

Norwegian nature photographer. Some fascinating infrared and uv photography.
